Vervolg Dino Cattaneo en Aerofly FS2

Met veel nieuwe simulatoren in opkomst is het ook wel eens leuk om daar eens wat aandacht aan te besteden. Dat proberen we dan ook zo nu en dan te doen. Begin januari zagen we al de aankondiging van Dino Cattaneo, hij werkt op dit moment aan het overzetten van FSX/P3D toestellen naar Aerofly FS2. Onlangs gaf hij een nieuwe statusupdate vrij:

At the moment these are just experiments with the SDK, but if everything goes well, we may have a basic conversion of some of my planes – “basic” meaning that most of the systems will not work at all… but the aicrafts will be flyable. Then IMHO the keypoint of AFS2 is its simplicity…which in turn gives a very smooth performance and a very conving VR experience (the image quality and frame rates with a GTX1080 are unparalleled). Unfortunately, the current SDK (still WIP) does not provide many details and there is a lot of trial and error…but I am making a slow but steady progress. Plan would be to convert the MB-326, the T45 and possibly the F-35A (in progressing order of difficulty for me).
